Thanks be to the LORD GOD Almighty and our Savior Jesus Christ who in His infinite mercies has granted all that will come to Jesus in submission eternal salvation.
There are three groups of people in the world and these are:
- The Gentiles: is anyone that is not a Jew.
- The Jew: is a person descended, or regarded as descended from the ancient Hebrews of Biblical times; a person whose religion is Judaism.
- The Christian is a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ, or in the religion based on the teachings of Jesus.
The Jews were the first people or race whom God blessed with His favor because they were of the descendant of Shem. “Blessed be the Lord God of Shem”. (Gen. 9:26). Here is obviously a reference to the special favour bestowed upon Shem’s descendants, beginning with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and ending in Jesus. The Jews or Israelites are often represented in the the Old Testament of the scripture as the olive tree.
It is God’s original plan to save all the Jews or Israelites (John 4:22) but because of their disobedience and stubbornness or stiff neckedness they fell into unbelief. And because only a remnant have come to believe in Jesus, it is this remnant that shall be saved along with those whom the Bible has described as “the spirit of the just made perfect”.
This loss to the Jews have opened many doors of opportunity for believing Gentiles to be saved.
Some of the Gentiles, who were formally haters of God and idol worshippers have repented of their ways and now found favour with God through Jesus Christ. The repented Gentiles along with remnant Jews who believed in Jesus have come together to be Christians. The repentant Gentiles are described as the “wild Olive branches”. While this group of saved people should be eternally grateful to God, they must have no place in their hearts to be boastful and to scorn anyone because their salvation is of the grace of God (Eph. 2:8,9). They must be meek and gentle and walk in the footsteps of their caller, Jesus Christ the Son of the Most High God. They must be diligent, serve their Master and love their neighbours. This is what Apostle Paul have to say concerning them. “For I speak to you Gentiles, in as much as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh (the Jews), and might save some of them. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be but life from the dead?
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them, and with them partakes of the root and fatness of the olive tree; boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, the branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
Well, because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity, but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness: otherwise thou also shall be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the Olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in”. (Rom. 11:13-25).
The unbelieving Gentiles of the world stand condemned because they do not believe and come to Jesus the Savior whom God has appointed to save all sinners. For God has given everyone the opportunity to be saved when He made the offer it was to all. “But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (Jn. 1:12), “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (Jn. 3:16, 17). “He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (Jn. 3:18). The believing Jews and Gentiles are now Christians.
If you are reading this and you are yet to give your life to Jesus, I urge you to make haste and commit your life to Jesus today. I invite you to come and dwell in the secret place of the Most High God and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. God bless you as you commit yourself to Him. Come and be grafted in.
May the peace of God which passeth all understanding be your portion in Jesus name. Amen. God loves you.
